Stuff to do Monday August 24th – Thursday August 27th

- Monday, August 24th: McMenamins Last Monday History Pub Lecture at Kennedy School, 7:00pm. Free for all ages, bring some canned food to donate to the Oregon Food Bank. Tonight’s topic is “Big-League Baseball in Slabtown, 1901-1956.”

Check that, we got a little head of ourselves! Monday, August 24th is obviously NOT the last Monday for this month, so mark this for next week! Thanks to reader input to correct this snafu!

- Tuesday, August 25th: It’s the final ‘Beaverton Last Tuesday‘ for the summer! Take advantage of this outdoor celebration of food, music and art at the Round MAX stop. Music by the Bobby Torres Ensemble. 5:00pm – 8:00pm, free admission.

- Wednesday, August 26th: It’s that time again for the Ground Kontrol free play party! Pay $5 and play all the classic video arcade and pinball games you want, from 5:00pm until late. Located in Old Town near the Pearl, you can play for a few hours and then skip on over to the last screening of the free ‘Movies in the Pearl‘ at the BridgePort Brew Pub.

- Thursday, August 27th: It’s Last Thursday in the Alberta Arts District, or go for a little more European flair at Pioneer Courthouse Square for Festa Italiana Opera and More, 4:00pm – 11:00pm. Free, donations accepted for a full evening of entertainment.

  1. Super-Duper site! I am loving it!! Will come back again – taking you feeds also, Thanks.

  2. Both McMenamins and OHS show History Pub as being on Aug 31, not 24th. Last Monday of the month.

Looks to be a great program this month on the original Portland Beavers, the long-gone Vaughn St Ballpark, and some of the ball players.
