Stuff to do: Monday, September 21st – Thursday September 24th

Article of the week Living With Less: “Tips from 8 champion Moonlighters.” This article provides an overview of suggestions for earning extra money as part-time (or full time!) entrepreneurs.

Monday, September 21st:
– “What’s the Worst That Could Happen?” 7:30pm at Powell’s Books on Hawthorne (not downtown, so don’t go there!). Maybe you’ve seen the You Tube video “The Most Terrifying Video You’ll Ever See (over 2 million + views).” Well, the creator of that is also the author of this book, which has garnered great reviews on Amazon.

Tuesday, September 22nd:
– The weather is supposed to be super-summery, so why not head on over to Chapman School in NW Portland and catch the famous free show by the Vaux’s Swifts? Volunteers from Portland Audubon will be present each night with information about the swifts, binoculars and a spotting scope for viewing.

Wednesday, September 23rd:
– It’s the fourth Wednesday of the month which means OMSI After Dark! 6:00pm – 10:00pm is adults 21-and over only, admission is $10 but if you come on a bicycle they’ll knock off $2. Other special features for this evening include a hands-on demonstration on how to build a kayak, how to make hard apple cider and the chance to play Guitar Hero World Tour on the big screen in the OMSI Auditorium!

Thursday, September 24th:
– It’s the Last Thursday of the month, and that equals art, entertainment and fun on Alberta Street. Additionally, Thursday evening also belongs to the 8th Annual World’s Largest Ice Cream Social @ Cold Stone Creamery. Stop in from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at a Portland-area Cold Stone Ice Creamery, make a donation and get a 3oz. sample in return.
