Monday, March 19th:
A live music showcase of up-and-coming indie electro/pop plays for free at Doug Fir beginning at 9:00pm (doors open at 8:00pm).

Tuesday, March 20th:
Semaine de la Francophonie free theater festival starts off with story time in French, 3:30pm at La Petite Provence of Division, then moves on to performances of La leçon de Lulu for dine-in customers of Brasserie Montmartre at 6:30pm and 8:00pm.
– Multnomah County Library Smart Saving series presents “Choosing the Right Phone Plan,” 6:30pm at Capitol Hill library, free.
– OMSI Science Pub presents “The Science and Art of Permaculture,” 7:00pm at McMenamins Mission Theater. $5 suggested cover charge, 21 and over or minor with an adult.

Wednesday, March 21st:
Free sack lunch concert at downtown Portland’s Old Church features Oregon Symphony violinist Shin-Young Kwon, 12:00pm.
– Multnomah County Library Smart Saving series presents “Choosing the Right Phone Plan,” 6:30pm at Kenton library, free.
– Portland author Cheryl Strayed (aka Dear Sugar) reads from her memoir via the Pacific Crest National Trail in her book “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail,” 7:30pm Powell’s City of Books on Burnside. Free.
– The Hillsboro School District presents a free community forum on bilingual education from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. at the Venetian Theatre and Bistro in downtown Hillsboro. Featured is the documentary film “Speaking in Tongues.”
– Hunger Games midnight screenings — the multiplexes will be packed and teeming with tributes for this hot-buzz flick, but for a little less frenzied activity, we suggest the Roseway Theatre, the St. Johns Cinemas, the Oak Grove Theater or Hawthorne Street’s Cinemagic Theater to get in on action.

Thursday, March 22nd:
– Final Week! Action/Adventure Theatre presents “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea: An Apache Dream,” 8:00pm at Action/Adventure Theatre (1050 SE Clinton). Admission tonight is “pay-what-you-will.”
