Thursday, May 10th:

– Join Boys and Girls Aid as they honor Foster Care Awareness Month with a screening of the documentary “From Place to Place,” 6:00pm at Q Center Gallery, 4115 North Mississippi Avenue. $5 suggested donation at the door. Independent Publishing Resource Center Grand Re-Opening, 7:00pm at 1001 SE Division “featuring readings by Cheryl Strayed and Trinie Dalton, plus live music, tours, hands-one letterpress demonstrations, beer by Ninkasi, plus lots of cake!

Family Friday Concert Series, final concert of the season begins at 7:15pm with the Ezra Weiss Jazz Ensemble. Performance is at Community Music Center and admission is a suggested donation of $5 for individual or $15 for family.
Willamette Week’s Best New Band Showcase, free performance at Mississippi Studios. Doors open at 8:00pm, show begins at 9:00pm. 21 and over only.

Saturday, May 12th:
– National Train Day! But no celebration in Portland this year due to lack of funds; travel north or south to the closest celebration.
Festival of the Birds, 9:00am – 3:00pm at Sellwood Park, features include bird walks into Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, information on making your home bird-friendly, crafts, Audubon’s education birds, bird olympics, art, food, music and a free raffle.
15th Annual Camas Mother’s Day Plant and Garden Fair, 9:00am – 4:00pm at Camas High School, free.
– Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden Mothers’ Day Show and Sale, 9:00am – 5:00pm , $3 general admission.
Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery walking tour, 10:00am – 12:00pm, $10 suggested donation. Suitable for all ages.
6th annual St Johns Bizzare, 10:00am – 7:00pm features a parade, over 75 vendors, free music and performances and more.

Join us for a free Mother’s Day concert on Sunday, May 13th, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the beautiful Oswego Hills Winery at 450 S Rosemont Road in West Linn. Stroll the grounds, visit the wine store, and enjoy familiar, light-hearted tunes presented by the Tualatin Valley Community Band, under the direction of Steve Heuser.
