Weekend on the Cheap: Friday, May 10th – Sunday, May 12th

Friday, May 10th:
– Free: Pacific Pie Co. celebrates its birthday with free coffee tastings from 11:00am – 7:00pm.
– Free: National Public Gardens Day, register online and get free admission for the Oregon Garden in Silverton.
– Free: Musical performance by Roundhouse Bluegrass, 7:00pm at the Tigard Public Library.
– Free: The Steve Hale Trio performs a 7:00pm concert at the Cedar Mill Community Library.

Saturday, May 11th:
– Submission from Sally:

Free – 16th annual Camas Mother’s Day Plant and Garden Fair, Saturday 9:00am – 4:00pm at the Camas High School campus. This event features over 60 regional nurseries and local merchants displaying all types of plants and garden accessories. Get in the gardening mood as you explore unique offerings of garden art, wind chimes, planters, garden furniture, iron works, and much more. Free for the children is the “Kids Zone”, presented this year by the Camas and Washougal High School Interact Club. Kids can craft that “one of a kind” Mother’s Day gift. Community volunteers will be helping throughout the day. Come and enjoy the festive fair atmosphere. The funds generated by the Garden Fair event go to scholarships for local women who are returning to the workforce or upgrading their skill levels in response to life changing circumstances.

– Free: National Train Day, events at Union Station 10:00am – 4:00pm with prizes, giveaways, displays and entertainment for the whole family.
– Free: 7th annual St. Johns Bizarre, 10:00am – 7:00pm with parade at noon, local music, street performers, a vendor’s market, kids art activities and more.
– Free: Crafty Wonderland Super Colossal Spring Sale, 11:00am – 6:00pm at the Oregon Convention Center. Free goodie bag for the first 200 shoppers.
– Free: Hale Pele Polynesian Plaza, 2:00pm – 9:00pm in the parking lot up the ramp behind the Hacienda CDC at 2717 NE Broadway Street in Portland. There will be vendors, food, live music and more.

Sunday, May 12th:
– Free: East Portland Sunday Parkways, 11:00am – 4:00pm with live music, kids’ activities, displays, giveaways and more. Ride your bike, walk, jog, roller skate, skateboard — get out and join the community!
– Free: Original Practice Shakespeare Company presents “Twelfe Night,” 1:00pm at Glenwood Park.
– Free: Documentary film screening of “Food Matters,” 2:00pm at the North Portland library. Sponsored by Northwest VEG.
– Free: Northwest New Music Trio will perform “20th Century Musical Adventures Part 1,” 2:30pm at the Tigard Public Library.

Multiple Days:
